Voice Engineer – Cisco Collaboration
Overview:
As a Voice Engineer, the primary responsibility is to provide design, consulting and implementation and support services to the company’s customers. This position will partner with members of the designated consulting and engineering teams as well as operate with a high degree of independence.
Under the supervision of senior staff, the Voice Engineer is responsible for the day to day management and issue resolution of customer's voice and internet telephony services running on Cisco platform.
Responsibilities:
Cisco AVVID Analysis and Design Demonstrated experience in IP Telephony system administration, configuration and implementation.
Assist clients in the daily maintenance of voice and data network infrastructure including LAN, MAN, WAN, WiFi, VOIP and NICs. Serves as tier 1, 2 and/or tier 3 resource for trouble tickets and work orders for voice and data networks and related network infrastructure devices.
Manage data/voice networking relationships and work with vendors to escalate issues when appropriate.
Review data monitoring stats and confirm SLAs are being obtained with carriers.
Review network utilization statistics to verify that circuits are properly sized. Take proactive approach in provisioning bandwidth to meet needs or determines more analysis is required to determine types of bandwidth usage.
Consult, assess or audit, design and interview customers to determine highly technical requirements.
Provide regular status reports on tasks accomplished, current issues and progress toward goals.
Apply business development skills to identify potential sales leads and opportunities and communicate discovered opportunities to the regional sales team.
Install, configure and manage Cisco Call Manager and Unity configurations.
Configure and maintain SRST, QoS, Voice Routing Protocols and Voice Gateways.
Support overall Network Engineering framework including routers/switches and firewalls.
Maintain efficient and trouble free operation of all local and remote data communication.
Maintain up-to-date documentation of network design, operation and procedure manuals
Skills:
Cisco Network Engineer with experience in analysis, design, implementation and support of Cisco voice over IP system solutions including multiservice infrastructure, Cisco Call Manager, Unity Unified Messaging, IP Gateways, legacy integration with traditional PBX systems and other voice components
Minimum 1 year technical experience with Cisco AVVID technologies, with voice protocols, configurations, Call Manager/Unity and AVVID Applications
3 - 5 years hands on Cisco engineer networking experience including routers switches and firewalls
Experience with traditional PBXs (Avaya, Nortel, etc.) and call centers a plus
1 - 3 years Cisco UC/Voice (Call Manager, Unity, UCCX, Meeting place) experience
Experience with VoIP environments
Routing and Switch experience strongly preferred (CCNP)
Implementation experience with UC on UCS a plus
Strong verbal and written skills ability to articulate, demonstrate and present proposals for our clients
Must work as a team player on our operations and engineering fulfillment teams
Cisco Certification ( CCNA / CCNP - Voice) would be a plus
